I loved the game, the story was good, the girls were cute and the change in mechanics across the games areas made it feel fresh and new all the time, always keeping my focus.
so I had a workaround but changing the keybinds would've helped, my keyboard isn't QWERTY (I know what a heresy, right?) so i made windows think it was one
Great game otherwise, no issue understanding any of the weird mechanics at any point, and that is thanks to good design
Lovely game! Lots of fantastic new ideas for games that I wish were more common. There was a large variety of fun mechanics to play around with, and none overstayed their welcome. Writing and characters fit like a glove to the original game and the charm was spot on! I think a couple of minor adjustments would really fine tune this into being the ideal product. Minor spoilers ahead. I feel there is a slight issue with timing in a lot of areas. With Malina's challenge, the timing for blocking feels a little unclear for when to start the block so it doesn't end too early, and I wasn't sure when I should block left or right, or if there was a difference, so maybe including an arrow on the player side as a visual indicator could help. I had some trouble with the faster red ghosts damaging me rapidly when I get caught out, unless that was the intention. The shooting segments in general had some parts where contact damage could push you into other attacks, but were otherwise very fun and felt very nice and quick to control. Some small visual changes could help to clarify some things, like if someone who already took their turn would be greyed out and also when an ability can no longer be used. Another could be if the eyeball enemies had an indicator for their area of effect, which would feel on brand for a Helltaker game. Lastly if there could be an option to change the controls, that would be nice, though I do like most of the default keybinds. Also as a resident Zdrada fan, I thank you for giving her her fair share of time and still humbly request more anyway :) Great work!
Hey there Chaney. Glad to hear you enjoyed my game :) I'm glad it went mostly smoothly for you. I'll take in consideration the feedback you gave me. It might be a bit too complicated to change the remaining bugs/rough edges now, but now I have the skills to make my next game better.
Excellent fanmade to be honest! It took me about 2 hours to complete it, and it was totally worth it! It's great that fans of the game make this type of fanmade, I hope this fanmade becomes more popular>:)
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! It took very long to make, despite how short it is. If you want more people to find out about it, it would be ahuge help for me if you told some of your friends who might like it ;)
So I finished the game in a good chunk of time and to be honest, having to skip a couple of levels. Not out of a skill issue though. While trying to move fast and push all the blocks around, the game kept dropping my inputs while trying to actually push the blocks into place. After trying to figure out where it was doing this, I learned that it wouldn't register me as "next" to the block to push it. So, I had to move next to the block, then take a step into the block before then using the arrow keys to push it.
Ignoring that really annoying issue, I honestly had fun with it. I liked the transition between genres for boss battles and if this game got made into more, more weapon building segments would be welcomed. I also really loved the reference to Daystone, it surprised me to see the orange hunter scrunkly and their giant sword. definitely worth the time spent.
I'm very happy you enjoyed my game despite that issue! However, I'm struggling to picture what you mean since it did not happen during the beta tests. Could you send me a clip with the bug?
Abslutely loved it! I really hope Helltaker will get support from such creative game makers as Cugu! My personal highlights of the game are the artwork of all the sprites and the suprizing amount of gameplay variety by the changing mechanics.
There was one thing that annoyed me though which i believe is a bug. Small spoiler warning! I couldn't use the charm ability for Modeus because my inputs were ignored. I believe this is because the timer starts after I already missed the first heart.
I will definetly be keeping an eye on Cugu's next work even if it's not Helltaker related. Though I really do wish there was more Helltaker...
Hey, thanks for taking the time to make an account and write your review! Really happy you think so highly of it. The next game won't be Helltaker related, but will be Helltaker inspired. But don't worry, I'll keep making HT art and comics at my pages.
What you speak about is not exactly a "bug". Modeus´ charm skill can only be used one against other demon girls because it would be too broken otherwise. But it is my fault to not make that more intuitive. ^^´
Besides the same music and some sfx from Helltaker, this fangame is amazing, took me more than an hour to complete but absolutely worth it. It's strange to think about the main character having as little background stories as the Helltaker, but i guess it fits, that some people go in and out of hell for different reasons and their backgrounds don't mean much, it's what they do, it also doesn't hurt or interfere much with the main plot of Helltaker, this game can serve as a prequel to Examtaker even. Btw here's my playthrough, i hope more people will discover and play this small gem, it is as neat as Helltaker, and to think this is your first game is really impressive, keep it up!
It's a nice game! I like the sprites and characters, especially the different genres you put into it. Some levels in the game were pretty hard for me because I'm kind of slow and I'm playing it on my old laptop. It took me almost two hours to finish it, though. Overall, I had a lot of fun playing it!
I love it! I've just started playing it, although I am terrible at rhythm games I still love playing them. I haven't finished it yet but I love what I've played so far! Much love and muffins to you!
I enjoyed the game. It was short and simple, straight to the point and nothing else, which I liked. The only gripe I had (which was a small one at that was the WASD controls, but aside from that I got through it). 10/10. (P.S. I wanted more Zdrada, too)

Made an acount just to write this.

i just finish the game and it took me about 1 hour and 30 min to complete
i give it about 10/10!!
Only negative would be, that in some places, I didn't know, what to do, though this could be explained just by me being a BAD GAMER.
8/10 + 0,5 points for half-naked picture of Lucifer on one of the walls...
So in total 8,5/10

Very cool to see a walktough of my game finally on youtube! Thanks for playing and sharing it ^^

Will the game be mobile friendly?
Sadly no. But there will be a browser version that will be able to run in essentially any laptop.

I can get what you mean regarding the controls. Still, glad you liked it so much! I'll see how can I make it up for Zdrada fans.
